Description Position at Comfortex Corporation Position: Senior Level Industrial Machinist / Tool MakerReports to: Maintenance Manager Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PMResponsibilities:Ensures that work production meets established objectives, specifications and standards, and that all applicable operating policies and procedures are adhered to.Provides technical guidance and expertise regarding design and how to build complex, novel or state of the art prototypes, components and parts often requiring the development of new and improved techniques, procedures and tooling.Produces custom tooling and fixture design as needed for complex prototypes.Operates standard and specialized equipment i.e. lathe, horizontal or vertical milling machines, surface grinder, band saw, drill press and measuring tools to produce prototype parts.Consults with engineers and other personnel regarding product information such as design, capacity and purpose, and types of materials to be used for fabrication.Analyzes written specifications, drawing, rough sketches, and oral instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations. Pans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, location of surfaces, and machining parameters; interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.Tests experimental models for such purposes as development, standardization, and feasibility of design.Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.May review, evaluate, and make recommendations for purchases such as supplies, materials, and/or equipment.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma/GED; at least 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Ability to operate standard and specialized equipment to produce prototype parts.Ability to perform standard shop computations.Skill in production of parts with extremely close tolerances.Employee development and performance management skills.Ability to perform experimental procedures.Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.Working knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances.Must be familiar with Industrial Maintenance Equipment.Ability to autonomously.Ability to work with other tradespersons and Production workers.Electrical knowledge would be a plus.Qualified candidates should contact Nicole Pistilli, HR Generalist at
