Join an award-winning company when you POWER your future with CE Power as our Senior Electrical Engineer, focused on NERC testing and studies.The Senior Engineer position is responsible for overseeing and executing power systems study and design projects from start to finish in compliance with industry and company standard practices. The bulk of these projects will be related to NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) testing and studies. The Senior Engineer will be involved in job/project estimation, initiation, planning, execution, final delivery, and closeout. Additional responsibilities include providing technical and sales support to others inside the companyPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESMust have detailed knowledge and experience related to NERC related testing and studies.Ability to act in a self-driven mode in the development of AC and DC test plans, work with CAD staff to develop and/or update client electrical drawings, and interface with the customer as needed to secure the necessary information.Review field data and perform coordination, short circuit analysis, and arc flash studies.Provide quality-control checks with other Engineers on the development and execution of related documents.Ability to remain current on all safety and technical training and maintain a clear and proven safety track record.Adhere to all company, industry, and client safety protocols and standards.Provide clearly written, concise, and technically accurate guidance to the engineering team.Ability to effectively convey technical data in an understandable manner to non-technical clients and co-workers.Provide on-call phone support to clients and co-workers.Lead interaction with other functions and locations to determine optimum solutions, including interfacing with Account Managers on development of scope-of-work documentation and the associated cost worksheet.Demonstrate skills in software interfacing with SEL, GE-Multilin, and ABB protective relays.Demonstrate skills in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting microprocessor relays in distribution, generation, and transmission environments.Demonstrate skills in hands-on use of power system simulators such as Omicron CMC series or Doble F Series.Participate in Project Kickoff meetings to discuss in detail work scope, project specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety requirements with project team.Work directly with clients and communicate client needs to project team members.Assess project specific resource needs, coordinate assignments with project manager, and manage expenses against project budgets and make recommendations to reduce expenses.Coordinate with the Engineering Manager on the master engineering resource schedule as well as forecast upcoming engineering requirements/needs including non-job-related training schedules.Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for all engineering projects by providing all paperwork in a professional manner; these include weekly time keeping, documentation of change orders, test reports, and other documents as required by the project deliverables.Consult and coordinate as necessary to utilize suppliers with the capabilities to meet material and equipment needs for shop and field activities. Responsible for expediting and resolving issues regarding material and equipment availability.Coordinate proper project handoff between sales and operations/engineering.Oversee all required documentation and records related to assigned projects on file in the proper location for reference and backup.Must have a strong desire to share knowledge and to mentor and train junior engineers.Highly task-based performance mode with strong attention-to-detail mindset.CE Power values their employees and provide you total compensation that is beyond salary.
