Laboratory Technician (East Plant) - Decatur, ILThis is a salaried, non-exempt level position.Job Summary:Under limited supervision, conducts in-process and finished product testing to determine adherence to established specifications of quality and purity.Essential Job Functions: Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor researchTest and analyze products, such as feed, beverage and industrial alcohol, to determine if product meets plant specifications prior to releaseRelease in spec vessels and report out of spec vesselsTest and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beerstills, rectifiers, etc., and report uncharacteristic resultsTest and analyze wastewater samples to ensure effluent is within GPSD discharge limits and report any violationsDocument results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client)Complete certificates of analysisPrepare chemical solutions for use in labMaintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentationMaintains awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelinesSupport and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirementsOther duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements:Ability to work on multiple tasksGood organizational skillsWillingness to assume and learn new responsibilitiesExcellent communication skillsDemonstrated troubleshooting skillsStrong attention to detailAble to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirementsComputer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programsDemonstrated math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testingEducation/Training: 2 or 4 year science degree is preferred, a high school diploma or GED is required Experience: 2 plus years of work experience in a quality assurance lab preferred Relocation assistance is not available with this position.This position offers a complete benefit package, including 401K/ESOP, pension, health, life, vision, and dental insurance.ADM requires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and a background check.
